The team of British design studio Oskar Kohnen reinterpreted the timeless mid-century modern style in the office interior for local developer Crosstree Real Estate Partners. The modern three-story building, located in London’s Mayfair, featured a sculptural façade and tall panoramic windows. The designers made the calm palette chosen at the request of the customers as the basis for expressive objects: thanks to earthy tones, the space does not seem overloaded with details.

The team at Oskar Kohnen studio decided to move away from the image of impersonal office spaces in favor of a discreet design that could also be suitable for an elegant country house. Thus, the hall on the first floor was decorated with dark wooden panels and airy sconces. They flood the space with warm light and subtly highlight the curved shapes of the sofa with textured upholstery – it was designed by French industrial designer Olivier Morgue in the 70s. The enveloping decoration of the entrance area continues with a lobby similar to a traditional living room on the lower level. For clients, there is an L-shaped sofa made of terracotta velvet and stainless steel. The background for the active color was white wall panels-screens and a coffee table made of tinted resin. The designers tried to fit it, like other custom-made items, into the historical context of the project. The soft group was complemented by a pair of low armchairs by the architect Gianfranco Frattini. Individual offices and common work areas are also endowed with their own character – for example, a bright lattice ceiling made of red slats appeared in one of the meeting rooms. This element is tied into the kitchen and conference room with terrazzo accent countertops and modernist black chairs.
