Agence Fleur Delesalle has carried out a complete renovation of an apartment in the 16th arrondissement of the French capital. Fleur Delesalle studied at the Chelsea College of Art in London and at ESAG Penninghen in Paris. After working for Indian architect and designer Madavi for six years, she opened her own studio in 2011. She has several prestigious projects and high-profile publications to her credit. Experts note her delicate taste and understanding of form. Fleur has a great sense of shades and textures and knows how to bring a non-trivial piece of decor into any environment.
In this apartment, Ottoman architecture was highlighted by the addition of an antique fireplace and two doors, replicas of existing doors in the house. These elements created visual symmetry in the house. The fireplace was placed opposite the already existing fireplace in the dining room, and two doors, although only one of them is active, were placed strictly on either side of it.
The furniture is a mixture of modern, vintage, and custom elements. The designer lavishly uses light fixtures that look like they’ve always been here, along with furniture from the 60s and 70s. Fleur boldly mixes with design icons (the Prouvé chair and Paulin armchair) his designs, such as the coffee table in the living room, the dining table and bookcase in the dining room, the headboard, and the bronze door in the bedroom.
Colors and textures are artfully combined, while the classic style of the apartment gets a playful update with trendy details. Delesalle shows that high-end bright elements do not need a neutral background, they can either solo or complement an existing style.
