The interior of a small apartment seems to be illuminated by the rays of the early spring sun. Finishing elements are combined with a comfortable layout, creating a light, harmonious environment for a modern young man.
In the interior of a one-room apartment in a monolithic-concrete house, it was necessary to organize a comfortable living space for a young customer involved in the development of computer anti-virus technologies. It was necessary to provide a modern kitchen-dining room, in addition to the bedroom, find a place for a living room and a work area, and equip a comfortable, ergonomic bathroom with a shower compartment and a separate dressing room. For decoration, we chose a neutral contemporary style and used light colors.
Redevelopment
An elongated rectangle of an apartment with an entrance door at one end and a loggia at the other, where two windows face, was divided by a partition almost into two equal parts: the kitchen was supposed to be on the left, the bedroom on the right. They did not radically change the structure: the kitchen and living space remained within the same boundaries, the bathroom and toilet were combined, and a dressing room was designed to the right of the front door. The room was divided into three zones: at the window, on the podium, a place to sleep was equipped, partially separating it with a partition, which is closely adjacent to a compact work area, and a living room was located at the entrance.
Repair
The former partitions were dismantled, and the screed was not changed. New partitions were erected from drywall, the ceilings were leveled with the same material. The floors in all rooms, except for the living room, were lined with practical porcelain stoneware, cork flooring, tinted in wenge color and imitating a fine wood texture, which was used to finish the podium; the floor in the living room was finished with a diagonally laid parquet board. The windows were not changed, the window sills were made of marble. The walls in the hallway, dressing room, and partially the kitchen were painted, all the walls of the room were covered with wallpaper with a light abstract pattern, and one wall in the kitchen was covered with photo wallpaper. The loggia was not insulated, its floor was tiled, and the walls were painted. An air conditioner was installed in the living room, the outdoor unit was placed on the facade of the building.
Design
For the decoration of small rooms, it is preferable to use light colors that reflect and optically expand the space. So, white, gray, and light beige prevail in the room and kitchen (floor, wooden panels of doors). The combination of warm and cold shades, an abundance of white (part of the walls, ceilings, a chandelier in the kitchen) create a pleasant balance that leaves the impression of freshness. The color palette is complemented by black (sconces in the room, chandelier shades in the hallway and living room, TV screens, and photo wallpapers in the kitchen) and deep brown (thick curtains leading to the podium steps). The color scheme deepens in the bathroom, which combines dark brown and beige to create a cozy atmosphere. The graphics of the interiors are subtly thought out: with the unconditional dominance of strict straight lines and angles, diagonals appear in the kitchen and the room: light silhouettes on a flat and almost achromatic urban landscape (wallpaper in the kitchen), a long and swift glass partition separating the sleeping and working areas; it is continued on the ceiling by a stepped structure with eaves lighting (living room).
The apartment provides everything necessary for a young man. The materials used in the project are environmentally friendly, easy to clean and practical. The furniture is selected taking into account the scale and proportions of each room, some items are designed specifically for this apartment. For example, in a small hallway, a hinged pedestal is attached to the wall, under which you can slide a comfortable ottoman. For storage in the dressing room, modular systems are used that allow you to change the shelves in places, adjust their height. A full-length mirror is attached to the wall. The wall of the head of the bed is finished with soft panels, custom-made and upholstered with linen fabric like matting.
