Italian architect Mauro Lipparini has designed the new Olos bedroom collection for Bonaldo. It is based on the concept of B/Style: each item is endowed with individuality, and at the same time they all harmonize with each other.
Scandinavian design is one of the inspirations, hence the use of bent wood, an iconic element throughout the Olos collection. The material emphasizes the closeness to nature and softens the outlines of objects through smooth curves, without visually overloading the discreet design.
The star of the Olos collection is the eponymous bed, which stands out for its “universal modernity”. Elegance, purity of form, and a strong personality allow you to create a calm atmosphere in the bedroom without sacrificing aesthetics. Bentwood pieces are used at the bottom of the bed – they peek out from under its base as if supporting it. Smooth curves are repeated in the lines of the elliptical headboard, which seems to hug the sleeper.
The Olos bedside table is designed to be the perfect companion for the bed. Attention is drawn to its table top with curved “wings”, giving the model a visual lightness. The effect is enhanced by thin metal legs. At the foot of the bed, Bonaldo proposes to place a bench with a voluminous upholstered seat to make the bedroom space even more comfortable and functional. The image of the model is built on contrast: a voluminous and soft seat cushion rests on a thin wooden base. A similar technique – a game with volumes and textures – was used to create the Olos pouffe. The wooden base lifts it off the floor, while the padded seat provides comfort. The pouffe is designed to complement the interior of the sleeping area but fits perfectly into other rooms of the house.
