Jeongmyeon Song used discarded sawdust to create the Sawdust series of chairs. With the help of the project, the designer from Seoul tells the story of the evolution of natural objects: hence the bizarre asymmetrical shapes of objects, referring to the confrontation between control and uncertainty in the relationship between man and the natural world. Sawdust, which serves as the main raw material for products, usually cannot be recycled due to the small size and clear shape of the particles, and in everyday life, they are often disposed of due to their low value. Using waste as the starting point of his work, the designer creates atypical and varied silhouettes, thereby further emphasizing the uniqueness of evolving natural objects. The series includes three models of chairs – Black Deer, Blue Stalactite, and Red Cactus – distinguished by their characteristic relief texture.
