Zaventem Ateliers recreated their objects from cardboard

Participants of the Belgian Design Association worked for 15 hours without a break to recreate their objects that did not make it to the exhibition. The designers were supposed to present their work at the Unique Design X Mexico City exhibition as part of the Mexico City Design Festival from February 8 to 11, but their objects were stopped at customs. To keep the stand open, the design team made products from used cardboard boxes found on the city streets. As a result, the sofa, tables, armchairs, chairs, stools, console and other furniture were materialized in volume using recycled material. The designers’ improvisation received a great response, and in the first days of the exhibition, the Zaventem Ateliers stand became one of the most visited at the event.
