Designer, artist, and creator of the art universe Yoomoota received a prestigious international award for his work entitled Inflated Ass. Taras Zheltyshev started from the image of a carnivorous plant growing on the planet Paradise. According to the designer, when sitting on a chair, a person becomes one with it: “If you want to keep such a plant in your home, you need to develop self-control and patience to resist its charms,” explains the author. The model is made of felt, handmade from high-quality Italian wool, as well as metal, fabric, and polyurethane foam. This spring, the chair, which has an international circulation of 50 pieces, will become part of the annual exhibition of the prize winners in Athens, before being transferred to the permanent collection of Chicago’s Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design.
One of the most famous design awards today, Good Design, was conceived in 1950 in Chicago. Its creators are curator Edgar Kaufmann, American architect of Finnish origin Eero Saarinen, and outstanding designers of the last century Charles and Ray Eames.
