Mexican studio Bolsón presented the installation Banana Blue during Mexico City Art Week. During the festival, Mooni’s gallery space was transformed with bright blue “wrap” – recycled low-density polyethylene, usually used to protect a local banana plantation, mixed with municipal waste. The team used recycled material in the facade cladding, as well as in the creation of some interior details: for example, stools made from pressed plastic demonstrate its flexibility. According to the studio, the project represents a dialogue between art, nature and sustainable development, helping to change the perception of plastic as an exclusively industrial material and showing its aesthetic potential.
