Two large-scale sculptures by Estonian artist Villu Jaanisoo became the centerpieces of the show’s set design, while miniature stool-like versions provided seating. According to the Swedish brand’s team, the dynamic nature and sinuous silhouette of the objects refer to the movements of the human body and echo the collection shown, which was dominated by materials such as leather and denim. To make the objects, Jaanisu chose car tires: as the artist notes, when working with them, he is especially attracted by their “internal resistance.” In particular, it requires serious physical effort to give shape to future sculptures and at the same time makes the surface of the product almost alive, the author notes. The jet-black sculptures contrasted sharply with the crisp white decor of the Acne Studios showroom.
