The well-known British bureau Heatherwick Studio presented the first project in South America – a 7-storey building in Bogotá. It is planned that the building will be part of the local university campus Universidad Ean – inside there will be a school of sustainable design and a special area for master classes.
The façade of the building immediately attracts attention: all thanks to the colored columns that are located on different levels, as well as green terraces. According to the architects, this design is a tribute to local craftsmanship, including the technique of basket weaving.
But the Heatherwick Studio project isn’t just for educational purposes. It will become a new public space for all residents and tourists.
The authors want to plant different types of plants and trees that can be found in the parks around Bogotá.
