An art gallery called El Faro is located on the Costalegre coast in Mexico and, in addition to its exhibition hall, serves as a beacon for local ships and fishermen. Mexican artist Gonzalo Lebrija was responsible for the design of the space: he strived for timeless aesthetics and organic integration of the building into the surrounding landscape. The light interior and exterior of the lighthouse, as well as plenty of natural light, give the structure a temple-like appearance, while guests can enjoy views of the ocean and nearby beaches from four windows on different levels. As Lebrija noted, his design reimagines the image of a lighthouse and is conceptually at the intersection of architecture and sculpture. The team is currently working on organizing exhibition projects and site-specific installations together with local artists.
