Huawei has introduced two new monitors to the market: the gaming Huawei MateView GT and the flagship Huawei MateView, which received the prestigious Red Dot Design Award. But we will look today only at MateView as it is minimalist’s dream.
The Huawei MateView Professional Monitor features a 28.2-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 3840 × 2560 pixels at a 3: 2 aspect ratio that reproduces 98% DCI-P3 and 100% sRGB. Thanks to thin bezels, the screen occupies 94% of the front panel of the device.
Every Huawei MateView is calibrated to ensure color fidelity of ΔE <1 in sRGB mode and ΔE <2 in DCI-P3 mode. Monitor characterized by a wide viewing angle of 178 °, the maximum luminance of 500 cd / m 2, the contrast in the range 1200: 1 and 400 correspond to the VESA DisplayHDR standard which guarantees playback on most parts of dark and light areas of the image. The monitor features TÜV Rheinland’s Low Blue Light and Flicker-Free certifications for low blue light and flicker-free vision.
The 9mm thick MateView case is made of aluminum alloy. An integrated stand with 110 mm height and tilt angle from -5 ° to + 22 ° allows you to set a comfortable position on the table. It houses two microphones with built-in noise cancellation algorithms and two front-facing 5-W speakers. Microphones are capable of picking up a human voice at a distance of up to 4 m, allowing the monitor to be used for group video calls.
The monitor is controlled via the Huawei Smart Bar. In addition to the traditional connection via HDMI and Mini DisplayPort, you can use a variety of wireless connection options, including wireless projection of the screen of a smartphone, tablet, or laptop. You can also connect a keyboard and mouse to the monitor. On the back, there are 2 USB-A and 2 USB-C ports for charging smartphones and laptops up to 65W, as well as 3.5mm audio output.
