The indoor baseball stadium, designed by the Danish studio BIG, will have a seating capacity of 33,000. The building’s unconventional silhouette is formed by five overlapping elements clad in shimmering metallic finishes. According to the architects, the dome’s design is inspired by the distinctive shape of the armadillo found in the American Southwest, as well as baseball fan flags. In addition, the silhouette is dictated by environmental conditions: the metal façade will block direct sunlight, while a glass wall on one side of the structure will provide natural light into the space. Construction of the stadium is expected to be completed in the spring of 2028.
