The rhythm of life of customers often sets the mood for the entire project: bright accents, secluded recreation areas, or living rooms for noisy gatherings appear in the design. This happened when designing the interior of a country house for clients Leila Angelova and Vahe Gabrielyan, a family with a schoolchild and a small dog. They wanted to fill the cottage, located in the Istra district, with comfort and warmth. The space turned out to be truly timeless: aesthetic shadow skirting boards, hidden doors, and laconic porcelain tiles will be relevant for many years to come.

At the time of purchase, a house had already been built on the site – the owners wanted to reconstruct it and update the outdated facades. The addition of a garage and open balconies to the living space helped adapt the building to the new owners. One of the key tasks was the arrangement of a large glazed veranda.
The main feature of the project is the attached insulated veranda of impressive footage. It is equipped with a glass canopy, thanks to which sunlight can freely penetrate into the living room. Thanks to the sliding system, in the summer the veranda windows can be fully opened for greater unity with the surrounding nature.

Layout
The finished layout of the house did not need to be changed much: all that was needed was to connect the garage and veranda on the ground floor with the living space. The original project included a parking lot for several cars, which the designers proposed to partially transform into two rooms – a guest bedroom with its own bathroom and a spacious office. A characteristic feature of the façade was a mix of clinker bricks and planken boards. A decorative belt completed the composition and created a visual dialogue between textured materials.
GROUND FLOOR PLAN WITH FURNITURE
The only limitation for the imagination of Leila Angelova and Vahe Gabrielyan were load-bearing structures and partitions. They significantly complicated the task – for example, a spacious kitchen had to be fitted between two columns, and as a result, a free-standing buffet was moved outside the line of the suite. The public block was also occupied by an island with a seating area, a sofa, and a dining area.
SECOND FLOOR PLAN WITH FURNITURE
The upper level is reserved for three bedrooms, equipped with everything you need – there are several dressing rooms, two bathrooms, and a small leisure space. The main decoration of the rooms turned out to be large panoramic windows, due to which the rooms are filled with natural light.
Interior and solutions
PALETTE AND CONTEXT
The decor is dominated by a color scheme of calm, neutral grey, beige, and white shades. They form the ideal base for wood textures and fill the home with a feeling of peace and comfort. Lanors matte paint and decorative plaster were used to decorate the walls, and engineered boards and durable porcelain tiles were used as flooring. The steps of the staircase are made of solid oak from the same material.
Almost all of the storage for the project was custom-made from American walnut veneer, including the decorative shelving, cabinet, and desk in the den. Their implementation was entrusted to the Furniture of Kings company. The designers thought through each design down to the millimeter to make the customers as comfortable as possible. The accent framing of the living room openings was complemented by panels that also serve as protection for corners in high-traffic areas.
STAIRCASE AREA
Despite the fact that the staircase space was realized quite quickly, finding a suitable lamp became a real problem. It took a long time to find a chandelier – I wanted something light and at the same time elegant. We settled on a model from the Spanish brand Vibia, but delivery took so long that customers had time to get used to the light bulb that temporarily replaced it. After labor-intensive installation, the suspension fit perfectly into the strict composition.
KITCHEN-LIVING ROOM
The large public space was helped to be zoned by load-bearing columns – they organically highlighted the living room with a corner gray sofa and TV. It is accessed through two wide passages, giving the design a sense of symmetry. The ANGA Project team proposed to highlight their internal parts with wooden panels. For decor and books, there is a simple shelving unit made of American walnut, and soft textiles – a silver Ami Carpet carpet, Piterra curtains and decorative pillows – bring coziness to the room.
THROUGH HIGH WINDOWS FROM THE LIVING ROOM YOU CAN ACCESS A TERRACE WITH REAL TOUCH GREEN PLANTS AND SOFT ALTEZZA OUTDOOR CHAIRS.
The most interesting detail of the cooking area was the Dekton stone ceramics. It was used for the surfaces of a free-standing island, a window sill, and a panel behind the hoods – its strength and water resistance made the coating ideal for the kitchen. UV resistance was also an important factor: sunlight penetrates freely into the room, which increases the risk of furniture fading.
Attention to the leisure area is drawn by the island with comfortable semi-bar seating. The designers specially designed the tabletop and walls in the same color so that these structures seem to be a continuation of each other. The final touch of the composition was a laconic buffet with a tea corner and a coffee machine, disguised by white facades. In the back of the room, there is the main line of Leicht furniture with a built-in sink opposite the window. It was equipped with an electric stove and hoods – so the smells of food will not interfere with rest. For dishes and kitchen utensils, Leila Angelova and Vahe Gabrielyan designed furniture cases with two refrigerators.
MASTER BEDROOM
The master’s block, located on the second floor, includes a small bedroom, a bathroom with a bathtub, and a dressing room. The center of the room was occupied by a Mononova double bed with a wide base, a chest of drawers under the TV, a dressing table, and a rounded Archipelago armchair. A geometric ceiling light and dark wood wall panels helped balance the soft lines of the design.
The graphic frame of the Mobo mirror duplicates the black shade of the Union sliding partition leading to adjacent rooms. In the large dressing room, they decided to allocate separate storage for men’s and women’s clothing – open and closed systems here coexist with drawers for accessories. Between them, near the window, there is a console table for makeup with a pouf and airy decor.
CABINET
The impressive office turned out to be airy and bright. The work area and document storage system with shelves and closed modules are adjacent to a compact sofa. The desk with sculptural support was developed according to the author’s sketches: it has a special hole for sockets, which the designers disguised with a removable lid. There was no suitable item for sale, so they decided to give the item to local craftsmen for sale.
White, black, and brown tones are designed to complement beige paint and decorative plaster for concrete.
BATHROOMS
Customers will use the bathroom near the living room most often, so it was made quite spacious. The room is equipped with a sink, a cabinet with storage, a toilet, and a mirror with perimeter lighting. The remaining bathrooms turned out to be more private and intimate, but the designers paid special attention to the master bathroom. There is a free-standing bathtub installed near the window, from which clients will have a view of the site. A long cabinet with two overhead washbasins ensures the convenience of both spouses, and a rain shower is provided for quick preparations in the morning.
