Designer Kim Min Hyuk (김민혁) from Osori Studio created the Saero series, which includes a screen and a table. The peculiarity of the products lies in the synthesis of the past and the present: thus, the author sought to revive the essence of traditional Korean furniture, using current materials and technologies. The items are made from lightweight and durable aluminum profiles and bioplastic, and the sculptural structural elements are 3D printed. These contrasting details, framed by a metal frame, become the main accent of the screen, reminiscent of paintings with oriental subjects. Similar elements, but in a more strict geometric form, decorate the table. Even the cross-sectional patterns formed on pieces from the collection during the extrusion of the material embody traditional Korean motifs in a more abstract way, thereby giving the pieces a timeless aesthetic.
