Journey to Harmony: Embrace Meditation and Tranquility at Bel Corpo Body Aesthetic Studio’s Minimalistic Retreat

The Bel Corpo body aesthetic studio in Moscow, designed by Babayants Architects, represents a significant milestone for the architectural bureau. While previously specializing in private interiors and architecture, this commercial project showcases their versatility and expertise.

Emotional Design: Crafting an Atmosphere of Minimalist Beauty

As the fourth project entrusted to Babayants Architects by the client (the previous three being private ventures), the task at hand was to create an atmospheric, aesthetically pleasing, and emotionally engaging space. The client’s desire was to establish a sanctuary devoted to body aesthetics, reflecting their dedication to a healthy and sportive lifestyle. Thus, the primary objective of the Bel Corpo project was to design a minimalist space that would provide physical, emotional, and visual comfort to its guests.

To achieve this, the architects fostered smooth communication and shared aesthetic vision between themselves and the client. This collaboration granted the project’s authors the freedom to explore various stylistic and technical solutions, resulting in a space that perfectly embodied the client’s aspirations.

Design Concept and Principles: A Journey of Sensuous Beauty

The design concept of Bel Corpo revolves around bringing individuals into the present moment. Stepping into the studio, guests are transported away from the bustling metropolis, leaving behind thoughts of the past and the future. Here, they can truly indulge in the present and dedicate precious time to self-care.

One of the core principles of Babayants Architects is the art of stripping away excess until only one emotion remains. In the case of Bel Corpo, that emotion is the celebration of a woman’s body—its beauty, softness, and natural allure. The design palette embraces a monochromatic scheme, emphasizing the plasticity of shapes, tactile materials, and skillful play with lighting, resulting in an atmosphere that indulges the senses.

Crafting an Environment of Elegance and Serenity

Every element within the visually clean project holds essential significance. The interior architecture incorporates rounded arches and outlines in every space, harmoniously merging all details. Handmade plaster covers all walls, including the handrails, imbuing them with visual depth, tactility, and sensitivity. The flooring features unique-textured natural stone, chosen for its physical sensation when touched.

Custom-made fiberglass furniture adorns the reception desk, bar, and cabinets in the studio rooms, boasting elegant round shapes. Glossy surfaces beautifully contrast with opaque and raw textures, infusing the interior with playfulness and lightness.

Light plays a pivotal role in the overall design, with a combination of bright direct lighting and accent backlights offering various shading scenarios. Each room features regulated wall lights to manage the color and brightness, allowing for a customizable ambiance.

Natural Elements: Embracing Nature’s Beauty

At the heart of the project lies an appreciation for nature’s wonders, with a focus on naturalness, inspiration, and adoration of its beauty, lines, shapes, and tints. Instead of traditional decorative pieces, stripped tree trunks symbolize the firmness and eternal allure of the natural world.

Within the atrium’s second level, naturally dried and “planted” fresh grass from the Netherlands adds a refreshing herby fragrance, evoking the essence of a green field. This oasis enhances guests’ relaxation and serves as a stunning backdrop for the captivating oxygen capsule, resembling a futuristic space object. The inception of this idea occurred early in the design process, and its execution perfectly captures the envisioned concept.

Functional Program: Enhancing the Guest Experience

Upon entering the studio, guests are greeted by the inviting atrium, featuring a reception desk, a bar serving fresh smoothies, and a lounge zone by the window—a welcoming space to begin their Bel Corpo journey.

The first level of the studio accommodates cloakrooms for both men and women, complete with shower cabinets, a SPA area, a power shower room, and massage rooms with shower facilities.

Ascending to the second level, guests discover a room dedicated to the oxygen capsule experience, a staff facility, additional massage rooms and body care areas equipped with separate shower rooms, as well as a utility area.

Bel Corpo Body Aesthetic Studio stands as a testament to the seamless blend of emotional design, minimalist aesthetics, and a holistic approach to body care. Its tranquil atmosphere, elegant lines, and natural elements create a haven where guests can indulge in self-care, celebrate their bodies, and embrace the present moment.
