The art director of the Cassina factory, designer Patricia Urquiola, whose novelties adorn the current Milan Design Week, became the author of the hotel in Milan. Room Mate Giulia is like Milan itself: fresh, cheerful, ironic, and hospitable. The hotel, according to Patricia Urquiola, reflects the beloved city through the chosen colors, materials, furnishings, and prints.
Patricia Urquiola is the master of the mix. The interiors of the hotel combine wood, metal, brick, marble, plastic, leather, textiles, and, of course, contemporary art.
The Spanish hotel chain Room Mate Hotels, founded in 2005 by K. Sarasola (Kike Sarasola), has big plans and is developing incredibly dynamically. It includes two dozen hotels in Mexico City, Istanbul, New York, Barcelona, Madrid, Amsterdam, etc. Paris and Rome are next.
Beds, tables, sofas, tables, cabinets, bathroom furniture, mirrors, and curtains were made for the hotel at the Cassina factory.
Curved terracotta wall with 3D effect.
In the lobby, the floor is made of pink marble, the shade that has recently been present in almost all the works of Patricia Urquiola. Like marble, the terracotta brick cladding on the curved wall is typical of Milan’s urban architecture.
The interior by Patricia Urquiola turned out to be eclectic and original.
The exterior of the capital of fashion and design has entered the design interior. The rooms themselves are like cozy home rooms, everywhere – graphic works of contemporary Milanese artists. The renowned Italian factory Cassina received a contract to manufacture furniture, as well as mirrors and curtains. Exclusive service Room Mate Giulia Hotel – WiMate – free Wi-Fi.
